Want wanneer de analyse verder wordt verfijnd en onderscheid wordt gemaakt naar de omvang van de onderliggende bedrijven, dan is de conclusie dat kleinere software bedrijven gemiddeld beter af zijn met subscription pricing, en dat consumption-based pricing de beste keuze is voor grotere bedrijven.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Leuke poging van Maxio om een ingewikkelde vraag te beantwoorden met meta-data, maar goed beschouwd is het antwoord op de vraag welk pricing model beter is: \u2018it depends\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Wij denken dat pricing van SaaS business maatwerk is, waarbij een balans moet worden gevonden tussen het belang van softwarebedrijf en klant. Hoe die balans uitvalt is misschien afhankelijk van de omvang van het bedrijf, zoals de Maxio studie suggereert. Wij denken dat andere zaken minstens zo belangrijk zijn, bijvoorbeeld:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<li>Gevoel van fairness aan klantkant \u2013 er zijn voorbeelden van usage-based pricing waar klantgroepen in opstand komen wanneer de rekening exorbitant stijgt<\/li>\n<li>Voorspelbaarheid van kosten \u2013 voor de ene klantgroep is dit veel belangrijker dan de andere<\/li>\n<li>Strategische doelstelling SaaS bedrijf \u2013 usage-based kan snellere adoptie faciliteren vanwege lagere instapdrempel<\/li>\n<li>Cashflow effecten bij overgang van het ene systeem
