Thomas Peeters Appointed as New Managing Director of The House of Marketing
With a strong focus on AI, THoM prepares tomorrow’s marketing talent
The House of Marketing is entering a new chapter. Thomas Peeters succeeds Lies Taerwe as Managing Director, after more than ten years of building his career within the company. Under his leadership, THoM will reinforce its mission to train the top marketers of tomorrow, with a bold focus on artificial intelligence and future-ready skills.
Preparing young marketers for the future
The marketing world is evolving at unprecedented speed. Many tasks traditionally performed by junior marketers are now automated by AI tools such as ChatGPT. At the same time, challenging economic conditions are pushing companies to favor more experienced profiles, leaving fewer opportunities for recent graduates to gain practical experience.
The House of Marketing wants to break this cycle. With the launch of a new AI Marketing Lab and a robust talent development program, young professionals will be trained not only in traditional marketing, but also in AI fluency, data intelligence, and change management. The goal is clear: to ensure Belgium continues to deliver top marketing talent that can compete on the international stage.
Thomas Peeters explains:
“The marketing sector is evolving faster than ever, and many essential skills are still missing from the curricula of marketing programs. From our work in the field, we see the urgent need to close the AI knowledge gap to ensure young marketing professionals remain relevant in tomorrow’s job market. The marketer’s role is not disappearing; it is evolving into a more strategic function. Young professionals who master AI can make an impact more quickly and grow faster into the senior leaders and managers of tomorrow.”
A journey of 11 years within THoM
For Thomas, this new chapter is also a personal milestone. Exactly 11 years ago, he began his journey at The House of Marketing as a consultant. Over the years, he has taken on commercial responsibilities, helped launch Talent Search – THoM’s permanent recruitment offering – and played a key role in shaping the company’s future direction.
Reflecting on this journey, Thomas shares:
“Those 11 years have been quite a ride: from working as a consultant in the field, to taking on commercial responsibilities within our group, to leading Talent Search. Each step taught me something essential: the real magic of THoM lies in our people, and in our ability to adapt to what the market needs next.”
Looking ahead, he adds:
“My mission is clear: keep and grow THoM as the leading premium Talent Hub in marketing. THoM is such a beautiful company, with a unique and warm culture. We’ll keep leveraging this DNA to the fullest – to unlock potential and change the game, every single day.”
